Promoting security awareness and development.

On June 25th, Women in Security will hold the inaugural WOSEC meetup at the River Rock Casino in Richmond, BC. This meetup will feature a dynamic speaker, Connie Linder, who will talk about the role of women in the technology sector, and how we can work together to increase our influence and affect transformation and leadership throughout industry. The meeting will start at 6:30 pm, featuring a brief introduction, the speaker addressing the topic of women in security & technology, followed by an opportunity to mingle, network, and share ideas about how we can build the community. Please join us for this unique event!

This event is organized by Monique Cherrie of Tri-Ed Ltd, and is supported by Mainland Advanced Research Society, as well as their other sponsors.

Women are a critical part of any organization, but in the tech industry in particular they are under-represented. Women in Security is an attempt to create a security-focused professional meetup for networking, education, and to encourage better community participation.

This is an important piece of continuing to grow the technical community, and despite being an event focused on networking opportunities, it is open to both men and women.
