ABSTRACT

Security Operation Centers 10 years ago at most major corporations were often 2 IT people, with possibly a background in networking and some hands on experience with firewalls running some type of an AV across known endpoints.
Today - this department is one of the biggest cost centers and while still not staffed by a huge team, runs some of the most complex applications in corporate environments.
This talk will give an overview about some industry drivers, issues that many SOCs face, and a look at how tools and the associated challenges have progressed.

A separate note, this is not a vendor centric talk, its my day to day experience in dealing with companies of all shapes and sizes on a day to day basis.
